You are interested in developing a marketing research firm that specializes in conducting customer satisfaction surveys for small businesses in the community. The rationales for the firm’s offering a single product are that (1) measuring customer satisfaction is a very “hot” topic in business today and (2) most firms offering this type of service target large firms, and their services cost more than most small business can afford.
You have several friends in Mr. Marshall’s business class in mind who might be interested in doing this kind of work for the experience and a little extra spending money.
Deli Depot is a new franchise opportunity offering cold and hot sandwiches, soup and chili, and yogurt, pies, and cookies. It is positioned to compete with Subway and similar sandwich restaurants. Its unique advantages include special sauces on sandwiches supplementary menu items like soup and pies, and quick delivery within specified zones.
The franchise package offered to franchisees includes information on the factors that typically influence consumers’ selection of casual restaurants. These factors, in order from most important to least important, include food taste, food variety, value for the money, restaurant reputation, friendliness of employees, and convenience of location.
You and a group of investors purchased the right to all franchise locations in North West Ohio. Your group estimates that five units can be opened successfully in the first year and that a total of thirty can be opened in the first five years.
Because this is a new franchise, potential customers, must first be make aware of Deli Depot and then convinced to try it. Over the long run a loyal customer base must be established to make each Deli Depot a success.
