Create a map of the major concepts and key supporting ideas from the article you chose. Your map does not need to include every minor detail in the article – simply include the major concepts and key supporting ideas.
To create your map, you can:
1.Create the map in Word using the drawing features, insert, etc., or
2.Use mapping software you’re already familiar with, and upload the document. (One good option is bubbl.us.)
Be aware of this common error in mapping: Often times maps are too cluttered to be useful study tools. Think about clarity and ease of reading when you map.
Evaluation Criteria for Idea/Mind Map:
•accurate identification of main ideas and significant supporting information
•show idea relationship through linkages on the map
