The subject area is Public administration. the course is public policy analysis. This is a weekly journal. the professor is very demanding and you need to follow all the instructions . I need you to read chapter 5 from this book : Heineman, et al( I provided a scan copy). and chapter 5 from this book: Pal( I also will provide a scan copy) YOU MUST read carefully then writing a journal by answering the following four questions.
– 1.List 10-15 public problems in society discussed by the texts( Heineman, et al. and Pal ) . You need to have items from both readings for the week. The facts do not have to be listed in sentence format and better done with as few words as possible. You must include the authors last name and the page number from where you selected the problem.
-NOTE: the important thing When writing up the problem, ask yourself the question is this a problem with policy making or a problem in society that can readily be dealt with through a public policy? The selection of the problems is very important as it drives the rest of your journal. If you have clear problems, then the analysis is also clear. — must select problems that are clear and then write it up clearly.
-2. Describe in detail two of the problems that you listed in number 1. Explain why you selected these two from your list as the most important. Be descriptive in this section as you will be discussing the facts in more detail in the next section.
3. Discuss at least two causes for each problem. How did these problems develop? Why are they problems for society? You can take from the literature, the PowerPoint lectures. ( I will upload the lecture and PowerPoint later)
4.What are two courses of action that can be taken by government, business, and citizens to address these problems?
the journal format should be first list of problems( few words not sentence format) then answer each point (2,3,4) fully and correctly. it is very important to follow all the instructions above. show analyzing for what you read and the problem you selected. the books you going to read are : 1-Heineman, R.A., Bluhm, W.T., Peterson, S.A., & Kearny, E.N. (2001). The World of the Policy Analyst. 3rd ed. New York: Chatham House Publishers, Seven Bridges Press, LLC. 2-Pal, L.A. (2013). Beyond Policy Analysis: Public Issue Management in Turbulent Times. 5th ed. Toronto, Ontario, Canada: Nelson
