The proposal should be a one-page document naming the film you have chosen from the list of acceptable films, a working thesis statement, and a brief explanation of how the thesis will be supported with evidence from the film.
Formulate a focused critical argument about how the film ‘Bridesmaids’ represents and constructs race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, and class. While you do not have to discuss ALL of these aforementioned issues and are welcome to hone in on just one, you will inevitably find that many of them overlap in complex ways in our film. The strongest and most interesting papers will provide a close and thoughtful analysis of how race. ethnicity, class, gender and sexuality intersect in the film.
