Affirmative Action in Admissions
1) identify the overarching theme(s) represented by the evening’s assigned articles
and 2) provide a critical commentary on the issues raised in the set of readings. Critical
commentary involves more than the expression of an opinion; it involves a critical
assessment of the respective positions espoused in the readings using conceptual tools
developed in the class sessions on moral theory. Papers will be graded for clarity,
organization, and technical writing skill as well as for the depth represented in the
student’s synthesis of the readings’ themes and critical commentary.
